I work on applied research problems where the statistics are only half the difficulty — the other half is that the data was collected by people, for reasons that had nothing to do with your question.
Right now I’m interested in measurement: what a number has to survive before it deserves to be acted on. That pulls me across sampling design, time series drift, and the interfaces that put estimates in front of people who have to decide something.
Outside of that I build small tools, write here, and keep a graveyard of prototypes.
